Do the thinking yourself

Anyone using AI is super, super prone to not doing any real thinking themselves and just having the AI do all the thinking for them, and just sitting there and lazily clicking next, next, yep, yep, go, go.

    Something is wrong

    If that's happening at all, or too much, then something is wrong. You need to rethink something, implement some strategy, or just abandon the whole exercise, because you're not learning anything or doing anything valuable if you're doing this.

    Ways to avoid it

    There is an exercise for this: critically analyse your app. Don't use AI. Top 3 ideas, the worst 3 things, the best 3 current things. Send an email.

    Before you reply, write the next step in your own words. If all you have is next, yep, or go, don't send it.

    When it finishes, explain what changed without the chat open. If you can't, stop.

If you're just clicking next, you're not learning anything or doing anything valuable.
